She Eats

Yesterday we decided it was finally time to feed Adra (with encouragement from my doctor). She was so cute, she kept sticking out her tongue and curling it, and she gagged a couple times. Farrah was very excited that we were feeding her Sissy, and she wanted to help so we let her feed Adra too. She did a great job, and even made "mmmmm" sounds and smacked her mouth to show Adra what to do. Farrah is such a little mommy, and she loves her sister so much, and you can tell by the way Adra looks at Farrah that she loves her big sister too. My goal is to feed Adra twice a day at first, morning and night. Adra is doing better at sleeping in her crib, but she still gets up several times to eat. Farrah is feeling much better, her fever is gone, and she is eating and playing like she usually does.

We are regulars.

Well we figured out why Farrah was so grumpy the last couple days...poor baby is sick. The doctor said she has a virus, and an ear infection. She has had a fever since yesterday morning ranging from 100-104! She is on medication now, and hopefully will start feeling better soon. Adra had a doctors appointment on Thursday for her 4 month check up (even though she is 5 months old). She is 12lbs 12 ounces, and 25.5 inches long. She had to get four shots, and there is nothing worse then having to hold down your baby while they get shots...it just breaks my heart in two. She has been a little grumpy from they shots, and has a little fever. Friday, was when I took Farrah to see the doctor. I am really working hard on getting Adra to sleep in her crib, and last night she did, besides the occational feeding. It was good that Adra slept good, because we were up all night with Farrah, trying to keep her fever under control. You feel so useless when your baby is sick, you would do anything to make them feel better, but there is nothing you can do...it is aweful!

Suzanne, Molly and Kirby came up on Wednesday, and Clyde came up last night...so they have enjoyed this fun weekend of going to the doctors! I haven't taken any pictures...sorry, I will try to get some tomorrow, and upload them as soon as I can.

Terrible Two's

Adra is so spoiled! We put a crib (that we borrowed from my parents) in our room. The goal is to try and get Adra to sleep in the crib at night, and not with Josh and I. I really love her sleeping with us. Not only is it so nice snuggling with her all night long, it is also easy to feed her (I don't have to get out of bed). But because she sleeps right next to me, every time she wakes up even a little bit, she wants to eat...so she eats a lot during the night! At bedtime I usually nurse her in bed, while I read or talk to Josh, and then she falls asleep...I wait until she is in a deep sleep and then I pick her up and put her in her crib. Usually as soon as I lay her down, she fights and fights to wake up. On occasion she will stay asleep, and will last in the crib for a few hours, and I get to sleep hard (when she is in bed with us, I sleep with one eye open). So I am really trying to work on this, because she should sleep a lot longer then she is.
Farrah is getting into her terrible two's. She is constantly testing Josh and I, to see what she can get away with. Because of this, she has been in time out quite a lot. We have time out on our stairs, so when we say go to time out, she will eventually go and sit on the stairs. Last night she was playing with a teddy bear, and she went over to the stairs and set it down, and said "no, no" and then said "sorry" and gave the bear a hug. That is our routine, we set her down, and tell her why she is in time out, and then after a minute she has to say "sorry" and give a hug.
Farrah also opens the fridge now, so whenever she is hungry she helps herself! She is still very cuddly with Adra (she snuggles her a little too hard though!) We are working on her to share more, because she got in the habit of grabbing whatever Adra was playing with and saying "mine, mine". She is getting better at sharing, but still struggles a bit.

Snow fun!

We had so much fun this weekend....it was like a little mini vacation. Adra is getting really big, and talkative. She gets in these moods where she just looks at you and squeals and smiles...it is so sweet. She can now push her way out of any bouncy seat, the little toot! Farrah is still using the potty on occasion (this morning she went pee and poop....very exciting!).

Let it snow

It is snowing. We have 10 plus inches of snow, and it is still snowing. Last night we decided that it would be more fun to get snowed in at my parents house, so that we could play outside, and sled. We got up this morning and went out sledding. We hooked up the sled to the quad and Josh and I took turns taking Farrah for little sled rides. We had a lot of fun, Farrah was a little scared because the snow was so high. I will upload some video's of our fun times outside later. Adra didn't get to play outside with us, she stayed in the house with grandma. Church is canceled tomorrow, and I think we are going to stay at my parents house another night, since there is no end in sight with the snow. We are enjoying baking and cooking and watching movies, it seems like an appropriate thing to do on a snowy day like this. We made 6 dozen chocolate chip cookies, and we are sending a bunch of them to David. The Childress family was supposed to come up this weekend. Unfortunately they all have the flu so they could not come, even though I am sure they wouldn't have been able to come anyway because of the snow. Farrah got a little bug the other night, she had a fever of 104 and it came very quickly and then left the next day. Adra luckily has been very healthy, and I hope to keep her this way.

Sweet Derby

KIRBY LEE IS HOME! He came home wednesday afternoon, and landed in Evansville. For those of you who don't know, he had been serving a mission in Toulouse France for the last 2 years. We all made t-shirts with kirby's face on them and signs for his homecoming. Farrah gave Kirby a hug and a kiss, which was so cute! She has heard so much about him, but has never met him. Oh, a cute new thing farrah has been doing for awhile now is she says "much" when she wants to say "I love you"....It is so sweet! We stayed at Suzanne and Clyde's house till Sunday. We had so much fun hanging out with the whole family! After the first day, it felt like Kirby never left! `

At the airport

Is he here yet?
