Jalapeños

While I was working on the blog on Monday, my daughters got into a bag of old makeup and Farrah decided to paint both herself and Adra with it! Here are some pictures of it!

Here is Adra's newest thing, the straps on our highchair are useless against this little Houdini, and she likes to crawl up on the tray and eat/play with her food.

Last night we went and met my parents in downtown Lebanon to get ice cream. Farrah got her own cone, and picked out the pink ice cream. I forgot my camera and regretted it, since the girls were so stinking cute. First off, they were both wearing the same jean dress, and they kept running around together outside. There is a ramp off of the back of the ice cream place, and Farrah kept running up and down it, so Adra decided to follow her, so this was the first time she climbed up and down a ramp. She was so cute, she would walk down the ramp, and start to pick up speed and then fall, but never cry, and after a couple times of doing it, she figured out how to do it without falling. We then went on a little walk and looked at the trains.

I spent the day at my mom's today working on my quilt. (This year for Christmas, I decided to try and do a lot of home made gifts, the quilt being one of them,) I am now working on the hand quilting part, which is the hard part, and will take some time. Here is a picture of the quilt so far. I am also almost done with a frog stuffed animal, which has turned out to be kinda cute.

Today for dinner we made fajitas and my dad roasted some jalapeños (that were insanely hot!), and somehow the fork used to scoop up the jalapeños was given to Farrah to use. Josh, Dad and I were talking about how hot the jalapeños were, and Farrah started saying and sort of crying that her mouth was hot. We thought she was copying us, and then we noticed that her lips were getting red. We soon realized that the fork she was using was the culprit. Joshua licked the fork, and confirmed that it was really hot. Poor Farrah, we were so sad! She was sitting there complaining and complaining and we all thought she was acting. We gave her milk, an ice cube, and then a popsicle!

And Relax

Well the busy week is officially over! Friday afternoon my parents went on the boat and invited everyone that was in town for Joel's reception to join them (15 including us). The boat holds 10 people so they were planning on finding a little beach area to drop off some people. Most of them were on the boat already when I can to the boat ramp, and met Jan and Jay and Jeff (Brittany's dad). We waited for the boat to come pick us up when Jay got a call from my dad.....the boat broke down and they were being towed back to the dock. Jay and Jeff left to go get the battary charger. While waiting for them to come back, another boat driver let my dad use his charger, so we all piled on the boat (all 15 of us). We found a little beach, so I took my two girls off the boat, and my mom, Marie, and Tim all came off too. So we pushed the boat off, and guess what, the boat didn't start! So after a lot of work, provided by Tim we got the boat back to shore, we all loaded up and finally dad got the boat started and we got off the lake....what a fun adventure!

Friday night we had dinner at my parents house....with everyone (there were a lot of people!) Kirby and Molly gave Adra her birthday present (since they will be in Utah for her actual birthday). Kirby is all about the pocket tee, so he was excited to find this little pocket tee for Adra, and Molly got the cool 80's sweats for Adra. (Pictured below - sorry you can't see the sweats, but they are adorable!)

Saturday morning we all got, got ready and headed out to get the Childress family portrait. The appointment was for 11, and we got there 20 mins early to get the girls ready. The girls (meaning Adra, Anabelle, and Farrah) were all happy, playing, smiling, and at about 11:30 they were ready for us, and by that time the girls were tired, grumpy, and not smiley at all. Even will the struggles we had with the girls we got some really beautiful pictures!

After the pictures, Hope and BC left to go get an ultrasound, and found out they are having a BOY! We are so excited for them, and I can't wait to start looking at boy stuff. (For those of you who don't know, on Josh's side of the family we have four great-grandchildren, and they are all girls!)
Saturday night was Joel's reception and then after that everyone went home, and we were all exhausted!
Here are some more pictures of the girls having Sunday dinner.

This is a picture of Farrah eating dinner, and after every bite she rubbed her hands together.

Today I am trying to catch up on the mounds of laundry that have piled up! It is so quiet here and we miss all of our visitors.

Some boring posts

What is with all the posts with no pictures. I know those are no fun. I will try and add pictures soon, but first I have to take pictures. So far this week has been really busy, so I haven't had a chance to take any pictures of the girls.
Last night was the Primary Water Activity, that I was in charge of, and it was a complete success. We had a slip-n-slide, a blow up slide, a sponge race, a water rocket/sling shoot station, and a food station. The kids had so much fun, and I had lots of help. Unfortunately, me being all stressed out about getting everything to the church (hoses, signs, hammer, toys…….) I forgot to bring a camera.

Farrah’s new things:
She is still asking “why?” after most things that I tell her. I called Joshua yesterday at work to tell him about Farrah’s new saying, and he was like “NO! I was wondering when that stage was going to come. Just tell her ‘because I said so’” It was pretty funny (both of us are not fans of the “why?” but the way Farrah does it, it really is adorable. She also asks “You OK?” a lot. This morning during breakfast I coughed and she asked me that, and then whenever Adra falls (while walking) she asks her that, or she will just ask you even if you are doing nothing. It is so sweet. Everything that kid does is just so precious. She is growing up so fast, and surprises us everyday. She also likes to put on her shoes, and she always puts them on backwards (I think on purpose), and lately she has been wanted to wear her rain boats that are a size to small for her (that is something I will need to take a picture of, because it is so stinking cute!).

Adra is still eating a ton. Just to show you an example, this morning for breakfast I feed her a container of Gerber’s 2nd baby food, a whole banana, a handful of cheerios, and now she is eating some raisins! She eats and eats and eats! She is walking better and better everyday. She loves to climb up the stairs, because she knows she will be chased, and once she sees you running after her, she shoots up the stairs as fast as she can, and then once you get close to her she turns around and gives you a hug! She loves to give snuggles, and I just love it because I get the most snuggles. She is a big mama’s girl!

Now it is time for me to clean...........oh joy!

Why?

Just wanted to do a quick post. I am getting everything ready for the primary water activity, with a lot of help from my husband and parents (I am so thankful!)
Farrah started asking "why?" today, after everything I tell her! It is so funny. It just clicked in her head today, that I need to explain myself! She also started a couple weeks ago bringing me food that is junk food, and says "me have this, so yummy!" and smiles so sweet and gives me kisses! I usually don't give in though.
Anyways wish me luck tonight! Tomorrow I will be able to relax (a little bit!)

Home Sweet Home

Well we are finally home. My parents came back yesterday from Joel's wedding in Texas, and we decided to spend one more night at their house (since we were lazy and didn't pack!) We had a nice time there, it was like a mini vacation. This week is going to be a really busy week (this whole summer has been one busy blur!). I in charge of the Primary Water Activity this year and it is this Wednesday, so I have a ton of last minute things to get done for that. This weekend Josh's family is coming up (so that means we need to clean the house and get it ready for our fun visitors) and we are getting a family picture done Saturday (so I have to find a coordinating shirt for that), and also this weekend is Joel and Brittney's reception. (And then everyday life, which is busy by itself!) I am tired just thinking about it. Of course today instead of working on much needed matters of business, I worked on my quilt at my mom's all day! I am very excited though, because I finished the front of it, and I really like the way it turned out.

On Friday Adra's front top tooth pocked on through, the other top front tooth started to come out today. She is growing up so fast, I just want to freeze time! I can hardly believe she is almost one year old!

A couple videos

I forgot to mention this but I have decided as of yesterday that Adra can officially walk. She has been taking steps for awhile now, but now she walks more then she crawls. It just hit her yesterday how cool walking is, so now she tries to walk everywhere, and does a great job! So here is a video of our little Adra walking (she looks really wobbly all the time, but she really does walk very well!)

Farrah loves to dance, and she loves this song, whenever she hears it she can not help but start dancing! (I am not sure where she got the squating dance moves, but I just love it!)

Adra Mae

Just a short update. We took Adra to the doctors yesterday and she weighs 15 lbs 8 ounces (below the 5th percentile), and is 28.5 inches long (between 25th and 50th percentile). Although she is really skinny the doctor is not worried about her because she is gaining weight, and she eats a ton! Adra is 9 months and 3 weeks old (wow time flies!). When the nurse started to examine Adra, Farrah started to cry (I am not sure if she was a worried about her sister, or worried she was next...my guess is a little of both). I will try and upload some pictures when I get a chance (but this computer seems to not want me to!).

Here are some pictures from my parents camera. They were taken on June 28th

Breaking Dawn

On Friday we drove down to Louisville so that Molly, Hope and I could go to the Breaking Dawn release party at the mall. We got there at 9 and the party started at 9:30 (we are such dorks!). While we were there we got to eat delicious red velvet cake, and meet other Twilight fans. It was a lot of fun and a great GNO (girls night out!) At midnight we were in line (we were one of the first!) to get the final installment of the Twilight saga....Breaking Dawn. At 5:30 today I finished this amazing book......OH MY GOODNESS.....it was amazing, definitely the best book in the series. Now that I am finished with it, I can get back to “normal” life (I am sure my daughters will appreciate that!)

Currently we are house sitting at my parents, because they are driving to Texas to attend Joel’s wedding. I do have some pictures that I will try to upload. Adra has been walking more; she has taken seven consecutive steps. Farrah cracks us up daily with her new sayings. She is so precious (right now she just ran in the room and said “Sit your lap mommy”…..so sweet)
My parents have a swing set (with a slide and climbing wall and fort), Farrah loves it and calls it her house. There is a toddler swing that Farrah loves to be pushed in and the whole time she keeps saying, “Higher, Higher!” - the little daredevil!

Sorry I can't get any pictures to load!
