BIG GIRL

A picture of Adra and Farrah after getting into my mascara. They are sneaky little girls.

On Saturday we went took the girls to their first real birthday party (they have been to a lot of birthday parties, but this one had mostly kids and they did kid games.....that is what I mean by real birthday party) it was Nadia's fourth birthday party. They played pin the star on the wand, and several more games....Farrah had fun and participated in all the games (I was pretty surprised). It took Adra a little more time to feel as comfortable, but she played a game as well (duck duck goose). After the party we went to my parents house, and then Joshua had the brilliant idea to go to Ikea. I have been wanting to go there for a long time, so off we went with the girls and Molly. As stated in the last post, Farrah has learned to climb in and out of the crib, which can be very dangerous. So we decided to look at the toddler beds and then after picking one out we decided we could squeeze it in the van. Farrah was so excited that we bought her a big girl bed. We got home late that night, so we put it together after church on Sunday. Here is a picture of the girls room before (sorry it is really messy, but honestly it looks like this more then it looks clean)

The dark brown crib is Farrah's, so we took it apart and put in her new bed (below)

Below is a picture I took last night while she was sleeping.......her first sleep in her bed.

She slept great in it, but this morning she was begging for us to put her crib back up.....we will see if she will sleep in it tonight.
I told Joshua that Adra won't last in her crib as long as Farrah did (Farrah is almost 3!). Adra is a climber and will most likely soon start trying to climb out of her crib.....I just want to make it till she is at least 2!

Side note: Adra can say "Farrah" and "your welcome". I am sure there are more but, of course whenever I am blogging I can never remember.
Farrah likes to go in the refrigerator now and get herself a snack, but often forgets to close the door when she is done.
Farrah also loves the movie "Mamma Mia" and wants to listen to the songs and she can even sing along to the song "Mamma Mia" It is so sweet. I am grateful she has a love of musicals like I do!
We have been struggling with potty training lately, she has been very inconsistent. If anyone has any tips....they will be greatly appreciated.

Superbowl

I have to tell you how sweet my girls are. Right now Adra is in her crib napping, after I put her in her crib I came down stairs, cleaned up the kitchen and then went in the basement to finish organizing my crafts and fabrics. Farrah stayed upstairs in her and Adra's bedroom. She was being quiet so I finished working on my things and then went upstairs preparing for the worst. When she is quiet it usually means she is into trouble. I found her in her own crib reading books.....how sweet. That is the first time she has climbed into her own crib. I came in the room and she hushed me and said that Sissy was sleeping and that she wanted to stay in her crib and read her books.....what a great little girl.
Adra is equally sweet. This girl loves to give out kisses, especially to me :) Everytime she gives you a kiss she says "thank you", how precious is that.
Last week we had horrible weather.....snow and ice and more snow.

Josh got a day off work because of the weather....Nap time = Sticker time

Budled up and ready to play

First headplant in the snow

Molly is the creepy person in the snow googles

Farrah had a blast outside playing in the snow

See the layer of snow, ice and then another layer of snow!

Warming up by the vent with Penny!

Ok, on to the Superbowl. Josh's family came into town and we watched it at my parents house. They were nice enough to have all of us spend the night at there house Sunday night. We had a lot of fun and a lot of great food. Here are some pictures of my girls with there new cousin Samuel. They were crazy about him, Adra cries for him she just wants and loves him so much that it just hurts her. She is so sweet. Farrah does really well with him and just wants to hold them, and Adra gets jealous and then she has to hold him. They took turns for a long time holding him. BC asked Farrah is she was going to have a new baby and she said, "Yes, that one." pointing to Samuel. Then she told him to put Samuel into my belly so we could have him. The things kids think of.

Farrah watching Sam getting his diaper changed. When she saw his "winkie" she said. "Oh, ring it like a bell." I don't know how that thought got in her head, but it was hilarious!

I love this picture....Adra is showing off what she is eating.

Sami was such a good sport!

Yesterday the girls had a no TV day, which I am trying to do more and more, but it is hard especially in the winter since we are pretty much stuck inside. Farrah is at the age now where she loves to do crafts. Yesterday she painted, and had so much fun.
My mom is still very much recovering from her surgery. She has good days and bad days, and has more bad then good the last couple of days. I hope she feels better soon. Love you Mom!

That is all for now. Have a great day!

As Promised

Here are some pictures....finally. For some reason I have been out of the swing of taking pictures.
We have around 4 inches of snow on the ground right now and it is still coming down. I hope to get the girls outside sometime (when it stops snowing) so we can play in the snow. I will take pictures if I do that. On Sunday Joshua took Farrah out on my parents pond, which was very frozen. She had fun but it was a little too slippery for her (I didn't get any pictures of it though). Adra is still a toot. Her new trend (started about three weeks ago) is that she likes to take her diaper off. Twice she took here diaper off that was filled with poop after she woke up from her nap. That left me with a hug mess! Farrah is sweet as can be, and she loves to sing.

Farrah found and had some fun with some bandages.

Adra wearing the potato soup I made yesterday

Dimples!

Craft time! Farrah loves to do crafts. Adra naps in the morning, and that is our craft time! Here are pictures of Farrah working on some Valentines!

Here is a video I took a week ago. Adra loves to sing the ABC song.

Adra's 15 month

I took Adra to the doctor yesterday and she is finally 20 lbs! 20lbs 4ounces specifically. We are ready to put her face forward in the car. Unfortuntaly our van is in the shop still (we should have it today...but then again we were supposed to have it Friday!) When we do get our van back we will install the other forward facing carseat....Adra is going to love it! Still no pictures, sorry.

Mom is doing better, each day she says she feels a little better. She walks around the house a lot, and can pretty much sit and stand on her own. Of course her back is still very sore, but it seems like she feels better everyday. We finally went over to see her Monday, and the girls were so happy to see her. Farrah understood that Grandma couldn't pick her up, but Adra just kept going over to her and reaching up. Molly moved in there on Monday and she has and will be a great help to my mom (and me!). We are so excited to have her in Ohio!

Love you all....and someday I will take pictures. We are pretty much just stuck in the house, and I don't think about taking pictures during the day.

Slacking!

I just wanted to post a little update.
Yesterday my mom had surgery on her back. She had a disc removed and they put in 6 screws and some posts (not sure exactly how many). They had her up and walking a little bit this morning, and they plan on doing some physical therapy later today. She is in a lot of pain, as you can imagine. The surgery took a little over four hours. We are not sure when she will be able to come home, most likely it will be tomorrow. Just keep her in your prayers. If you didn't know, she has been living in a lot of pain for months now, one of her discs was bulging and putting pressure on her nerves causing her severe leg pain, and she was unable to really walk, so although she is a lot of pain now, she is looking forward to not having those horrible leg pains anymore. She has never had any back problems and this all happened because she lifted a bucket of water, and she heard her back pop.....now she has had surgery!

Her back pain pretty much started around the time I found out I was pregnant, and started suffering the horrible morning "all day" sickness. Joshua and my Dad have been great at taking care of both of us.

I am now 15 weeks along, and still sick.....it seems so unfair!!!! I really am sick of being sick. I am sick throughout the day, but I am at my worst at night. I have trouble sleeping because the nausea wakes me up. My mom hated that she couldn't really help me out, and I felt terrible that I couldn't help her out. We were both useless! Sorry if it sounds like I am complaining....but if you were nauseous and throwing up for three months while taking care of two babies that really don't understand that you feel sick....you probably would be too! (I know you understand Janine!)

I have been bad about taking pictures, because I have been feeling so out of it.
Farrah walks around talking about how she needs to lay down because she is sick.....the poor girl hears me say that 100 times a day!

Joshua unfortunately is in Mexico right now and is going to be home late Friday night. I am grateful that he didn't have to go the whole week, but it is going to be a long three days!

Adra has been teething really bad and has been getting fevers....poor baby. Yesterday she wanted to be held all day long, she just felt so bad. She is talking a lot more now. She says "please", "thank you", "baby", "book" and many more. She also likes to sing the "ABC" song....it is so precious.

Farrah got a play kitchen for Christmas and plays with it everyday. She is such a good girl, but has been testing her boundaries.

I guess that is all for now, I am going to lay down because I feel like my lunch is about to come up........I just want to feel better now!!!!!!

Love you all
