Parks

Friday was a beautiful day. I decided it would be fun to get a little McDonald's lunch and have a picnic at the park, I invited Molly to join us. It was so sunny in the morning, but by lunch time it was mostly cloudy and pretty windy, but we went to the park and had a nice lunch and played at the park. It was so nice to be outside (and not freezing!). I had the windows open all day, and it was great to have some fresh air flowing through the house. I tried my hardest to ignore the horrible cold I had and enjoy the day. After lunch we went through McDonald's again and got ice cream, which we took back to our house to eat....YUM!
Adra and Farrah have many differences. One is that Adra loves hamburgers (pretty much any red meat) and Farrah prefers chicken, and she prefers veggies over chicken. I was really strict with Farrah's diet her first year, and I think that made a big difference (I was really relaxed about what food Adra had)
Adra enjoying her hamburger.

Doesn't she make it look good!

Adra going down the slide with her chicken nugget (she didn't eat it, she just needed to have it in her hand)

Molly and Farrah playing on the dizzy thing (Farrah is the kid laying down)

Lets swing. I took so many pictures it was hard to narrow them down. Farrah loved to push Adra's swing (it made her feel like a big girl!).

Adra loves to swing, she gets so relaxed, she falls asleep.

On to the good stuff!

When Joshua got home from work Friday we all got in the car and drove to Indiana to visit his parents for the weekend. The weather was beautiful! Saturday morning we got up and went for a Kubota ride to a little Old Country Store that serves food. The ride over there was about 10 minutes on gravel roads...it was perfectly beautiful! We had a delicious breakfast there.

Adra found these dolls to play with at the store.

Farrah ate all her breakfast!

Here we are outside of the store

Then we got back in the Kubota and went to a natural park (I am not sure exactly what you call it). These people turned their home and yard into a natural habitat. There are wood carvings all over the place, it is really neat. We need to go back in the spring when all the plants are in bloom!

We later went to the train tracks by their house and put pennies on the track (unfortunately no trains came).

WOW we had a busy day! We then went to visit this silo (I am not sure how to spell that) that has a tree growing up the middle of it.

We then came back to the house for a little rest (this was all before lunch). The boys went to play a quick 9 holes of golf. We then packed up a picnic and headed to the park for lunch. It was really really really windy! We flew (or tried to) kites.

Adra grabbed my camera and gave it to me and started saying "cheese". What a little poser!

Sunday we went to church and hung around the house, and then headed home. What a fun weekend!

Two days in a row!

Wow, I am posting again! Well I said I would have more pictures when the weather got nicer, and yesterday was beautiful. I took the girls over to my parents and they got to play with the Allen kids. It was so nice to be outside (even though I am still sick with this awful cold!). I am taking the girls to the park today for a picnic lunch, so there should be more good pictures to come!
Poor Nadia isn't in any of the pictures because she got a knee full of splinters while playing in the play house.

Farrah had so much fun in this car. Kerrin is so great with her, and all the kids. Adra was not a big fan of it at all. Kerrin even let Farrah drive it for a little while. She keeps telling us that she wants a car now!

Notice in the first picture Adra has a red popsicle...she didn't have two, Farrah just traded with her. Adra is ok with anything!

So precious!

Thank you!

I just wanted to thank everyone for checking out the blog, and leaving comments. It means a lot to us! I know I have been slacking a bit, it is a mix of being pregnant, lazy, and also the weather (we are stuck inside)....once we get to start going outside we will have more pictures, I promise.

The girls are doing great, and are as cute as ever. Farrah is like a mini grown up, and likes to do things by herself. She HAS to put on her coat by herself, open the van door by herself and climb into her car seat by herself. If we try to help her, she gets really mad, so we have learned to just let her do it on her own or else it we will never get out of the house. She still asks me everyday if the baby is still in my tummy. She touches my tummy and gives it kisses and talks to the baby. She has named the baby Champ, which Joshua and I just think is the cutest thing...she came up with that name all by herself. Don't worry we are not going to name him Champ....but it is a very cute nickname. The baby is getting much stronger and Joshua got to feel the first kick last week. He kicked right into Josh's hand, really hard...the hardest kick he has ever done, which I thought was adorable, it was like he wanted his Daddy to feel him.

Adra is a stinker. She is such a funny girl. First of all she is sweet as sugar and snuggles up to you and kisses you, but she also has a temper. If she doesn't get what she wants she will throw a tantrum, cry, and hit (when she hits she is just trying to show you she is mad, she doesn't try to hit hard). Both her and Farrah love to sing, and they sing a lot during the day. Adra loves to sing "Rock a bye baby" and she can sing the first three lines (she doesn't sing every word but it is obvious what she is trying to sing). The girls love each other, and play together so well. Adra always needs to know where her sister is. My mom has been taking Farrah to the library for reading time and a craft Monday mornings and Adra is always so excited when she comes home (even though Adra naps most of the time while Farrah is gone). Another funny thing about Adra is she says "thank you" when you take something away from her that she is not allowed to have. Just now she picked up a screwdriver and I took it away from her and she said, "thank you". I just love that she does that!

I will upload some pictures when I go to my parents house, they have been better at taking pictures then I have.

I have had a cold this week, and have been pretty useless. Joshua is so sweet, and takes good care of me when I am home. Last night after I went to bed he stayed up and cleaned the kitchen for me. What a sweetie. I am so greatful to have such a wonderful and thoughtful husband. He has also been sick with the cold this week, he got it Friday and is over the worst part of it. I love you Joshua!

Farrah and Adra hate when Joshua leaves in the morning to go to work. Farrah always has to give him a big hug and kiss, Adra usually does (but it depends on her mood and whether she is eating breakfast or not). The girls then go to the window and watch him drive away. The girls love their daddy so much!

Potty time!

We had a pretty big event happen this morning, Farrah woke up and went to the bathroom and peed in the potty. She has done this a handful of times, but what made it extra special is that her diaper was dry! She didn't pee once in her sleep last night! Her diaper is usually pretty soaked in the morning. Speaking of potty training, I have resorted to a new method of reward......candy. She now gets one Skittle if she pees, and two if she poops. I promised myself that I wouldn't reward with candy, but you do what you have to do....I was desperate. I was originally using stickers, which worked for the first couple weeks, but soon got old. The candy method has worked very well. Farrah has done great the last few days. She often goes without us asking her, she will be playing with her toys get up go and use the potty and then come and get me (I make her show me that she actually went potty in order for her to get the candy). Thee first day I started this she peed in the potty like 5 times in the first hour! She would go in the bathroom and yell "Come out peepee!" Kind of weird I admit, but also very entertaining (she has stopped doing that now).
The beginning of my pregnancy I was pretty sick, so I stopped putting panties on Farrah and did Pull Ups instead. Farrah soon figured out that a Pull Up is like a really pretty diaper. Now that I am feeling better, it is back to panties (only while we are at home, I still do the Pull Ups when we go out). I also carry around a small container of the Skittles in my purse, so we always have a reward when she goes potty. I really hope that she is fully potty trained (at least while she is awake) before the new baby comes in July. She is doing such a good job, I will be surprised if she isn't.

Our good friends Shane and Pilar are moving this Friday. We went to their house last Friday for a little birthday party for Brighton (who turns one in March). We have so much fun with them, and we are so sad to see them go. Luckily they have family here, so they plan on visiting often. Azden and Farrah get along great together, and I know they will miss playing with each other. They also gave us a ton of baby boy clothes, which we are so greatful for!
Here are pictures from the party.

Here is a couple videos from last week
The girls are supposed to be napping.

Here are some of the things Farrah is saying on the video
"Oh my, you make me super happy"
"Oh my goodness my first dress, thank you, and it has fairies on it. Oh my I want a pink one"
Adra coughs, Farrah says, "you chocking?"
"My got to get pink one for Mommy....cause her love it all the time"
"This is enormous"

Bring on the blue!

I still can't believe we are having a boy. I am so trained to think pink, I really can't imagine having baby boy blue things around. Today my mom and I went on a quick shopping trip, and I just felt so out of place looking through the boy clothes...it just felt unnatural. I had a lot of fun though, and we picked up some cute boy outfits (see below)....thanks Mom!
Here are the first baby boy clothes to enter this household! It really is weird for me to think about it.....I can't imagine having a boy (it is kind of freaking me out, if you can't tell)

*side note* If you see the prices, don't freak out....they were all 70% off those prices

Farrah wants the baby to come out so bad. She tells me all the time, "My can't hold him and walk with him, but I can hold him when I am sitting down, and I can kiss him and hug him" She can not wait to get a hold of this little baby, she is going to be my little helper. She also wants to name the baby Sam (which is her baby cousins name). Adra will be a handful with this new baby, she will want to just kiss him, and hug him and try and hold him and squeeze him.....seriously you have never seen a little child love babies more then Adra!

Here is a picture of Farrah's new swimming suit.....I can't wait till it is warm enough to swim outside (I think we are getting more snow this week.....AHHH!) Doesn't she look so cute (she is also wearing two pairs of panties on under the swimsuit...funny)

Here is a diaper bag I started making months and months ago, but I finally finished it today (my purse/diaper bag that I am using now has about had it....that was my motivation). The pink on the outside is two bottle holders and a cell phone holder. I really love to sew, but it is hard to find time to do it, especially now that Farrah has stopped napping!

Farrah is doing alright with her big girl bed, but the last two nights when Joshua and I go up to bed, we find that Farrah and Adra are both sleeping in Adra's crib. Farrah climbs in the crib and falls asleep with her sister. I will take a picture of it tonight (because I am sure she will do this again tonight). They love each other so much, it is so sweet. I also need to get Adra on film saying "Farrah", it is so sweet. Adra looks up to her big sister so much. I am so blessed to have such amazing and different girls....they are the loves of my life!

Farrah just found the baby boy clothes, and asked me to take the baby out so we could put clothes on him. I love her!

I'm 20 weeks...you know what that means?

First of all here are some pictures of the girls for Valentines Day (the plan was to use the pictures to make cute gifts.....but it never happened)

I am mad at myself because I didn't get any pictures of the girls in their Valentines dresses (which they wore to church on Sunday).....they are beautiful. I will have to dress them up in them and take pictures some time......when I have time.
Josh's parents came up last weekend. We had a lot of fun with them, but time went by too fast. The girls are still on a sugar high from all the candy from Valentines day.....and we still have tons of it left!
Here are some pictures from Valentines Day

Josh didn't have to go to work on Monday so we went to the library and checked out some books (Farrah loves going to the library, but I don't like going by myself because you can not take your eyes off Adra for a second....she is fast and she will not be held).

OK now to the really important stuff. I went to the doctor today to have my ultrasound. I took Farrah with me (Aunt Molly watched Adra). So what do you think we are having a boy or a girl? Joshua and I thought for sure it was a girl, so did everyone else (including Farrah). To our surprise we hear, "It's a BOY!" I was in shock, I really thought without a doubt that this baby was a girl. It was very obvious that the baby was a boy. We are very excited (I am still in shock). Our second thought was....MONEY....we have NO boys things. It has been so easy with Adra because she wears mostly Farrah's hand me downs. We have a million pink and purple and girly blankets....I think we have one yellow and one white blanket. We are in desperate need of things that are blue! The funny part about it was when we were told it was a boy, Farrah started crying saying, "No, it is a girl baby!" We have been asking her for awhile what she thinks the baby is, and I think that she thought that she got to decide what the baby was.
My due date is the same July 7th (the baby measured right at 20 weeks, so we are right on target!)
