Easter

Adra sleep eating from Chelsea Childress on Vimeo.

Friday night we left and headed down to Indiana to spend Easter weekend with Joshua's family.
Here is Sam Saturday morning enjoying a McDonald's breakfast burrito.

Nona had a cute craft for the girls....they made chick magnets.

Nona had some shelves to put up in her dining room....the kids loved to play in the big box.

Dax wearing his new shades.

Farrah looks so cool in her new glasses.

We went to Applebee's to celebrate BC's birthday Saturday night. We also got to experience GiGi cupcakes....AMAZING.

What beautiful kids!

The men. Handsome.

Easter morning, the kids got their baskets from the Easter Bunny.

Sam got a T-Ball set, and all the kids had fun playing with it.

Seriously, this child is so gorgeous!

Our Easter feast. It was delicious, and it was such perfect day that we got to eat outside. So much fun!

Farrah and Anabelle, play so good together. They just play for hours in their own little world.

The eggs, that Suzi, Hope and I (Josh did a couple too) made.

We had a big Easter egg hunt. Here are the kids after they finished filling their baskets with eggs.

Sweet brother and sister.

Farrah loves to hunt eggs.

Dax and Sam loved playing with the eggs....just odd shaped balls.

BC and Joshua took the kids on a Jeep ride.
I love this picture!

After we put Sam in the Jeep Farrah got really grumpy....she said there wasn't enough room. What a face!

Cuties

Papi got the four wheeler out and the girls (especially Adra) loved it!

Adra's face attracts dirt.

Sam likes to drink.

Farrah loves to dress up in Aunt Molly's clothes.

We had an Easter egg hunt later at my parents house. The Easter Bunny left baskets for the kids there too.

Dax throwing the ball.

That face!

The kids getting ready to go on their second Easter egg hunt.....very excited.

Breathtaking!

It was a sugar high, fun weekend.

Chicken Ladies

We made a foam Easter cabin this week.....can you tell the kids were thrilled! They actually had a ton of fun, but didn't want to take pictures afterward.

Joshua and Dax like to make funny faces at each other.

Lets paint a pond! Why not?

Our pond is almost done. While we let it dry, we colored some pictures of "pond" animals, crocodiles, fish, ducks, ect. Then I got some little toy pond animals and put them in a wipes container, and the girls got to take turns reaching their hands in and picking out an animal. They had a blast.

We then sang "5 little ducks"
Look at that tongue! My girls love to make funny faces.

My kids are all about the swings.

Adra with a stick...that sounds like a good idea.

Let's visit Grandma's chickens. Farrah is always the first to spot the eggs.

Then it is a race to see who can get the most eggs the quickest.

Farrah loves the chickens.

Adra LOVES to hold the chickens.

Dax is not sure of the chickens......they like to peck.

Farrah is nervous about holding the chickens.

Going on a walk. Somebody is tired of walking. She slept good that night!

Dax likes to nap while we walk.

Grandma then sent me in the basement to get the Easter decorations out. Farrah loved decorating the little tree.

Of course while searching through the basement I found more of our crap, I mean stuff. Sorry hun! This is just a little of it....I found several more boxes....but that is for another day.

Cats in the cradle

Two weekends ago it was State Tournament weekend. Joshua, Papi and BC (and Kirby when he is home) go to the Kentucky high school basket tournament. Nona, Hope, and I get to watch the kids. We had fun though. We went to Target, and did lots of crafts with the kids.

Unfortunately Farrah had an accident while we were there (I think only a couple hours after the men left). It looks worse then it was. It has healed up so fast.

We got to play outside a little bit, we colored with chalk and blew some bubbles.

Sunday we took the kids over to the park. Anabelle, is sporting the Micheal Jackson look.

We came home Sunday afternoon and we kidnapped Nona.
Joshua left for Mexico in Tuesday. We were so thankful to have Nona come and help us! My parents were supposed to get home Sunday afternoon, but because their airline was HORRIBLE and there were complications with the plane they didn't get home until Monday night. On Monday we went to story time at the Library, and met Joshua for lunch. Tuesday we went to Target.....of course. Wednesday we hung around the house and Papi came up. Thursday we went to Ikea and then Nona and Papi came home. Thursday night I watched Nadia, Livy and Piper. Friday we worked on cleaning the house and preparing for Joshua's homecoming!

Nona taught Dax to play catch!

Joshua came home Friday, and I set up a mini surprise party at my parents house. I made him a cake and got him a present! He was surprised....but mostly confused. I really just wanted an excuse to make a cake, and try making fondant again, and I thought it would be fun to surprise Josh. I really need to practice more with the whole fondant thing (I make my own, because I don't like the store bought stuff). My recipe tastes good, but I haven't figured out how to work it very well. I made white cake (from a box) and put my lemon curd as the filling (with butter cream frosting too). It was delicious!

The present was a steamer I got at Target on clearance....not really a fun gift, but it is just fun opening presents....right?

Saturday was a fun day. Mom and I (and of course Dax) went on a mother daughter date, and went shopping at JoAnn's. That was so much fun. Great deals! Josh took the girls to the Y while were shopping. On the way home we stopped at Lowes, and I got some vertical blinds for our back door. I am not a fan of vertical blinds, but they were on clearance for $27 and we really need something to cover it, so I decided to get it. Mom dropped me off after that and Josh and I played outside with the kids. We got the car out of a neighboors trash....it is so cute, and Dax loves it....the bottons still work and make noises. We got it with the little tikes car (which Farrah LOVES). We got the green car for the girls, but it is too small for them, and Joshua was going to trash it, but I got it down for Dax, and he loved it....so Farrah begged Daddy to keep it for Daxie.

I worked on my potted garden a little bit. I also complained about our overgrown hill, so Joshua went to Loews and bought a weed wacker, and hacked down all the overgrowth.....it looks SO much better now. It took him a good 2 hours to finish it, and he was exhausted, but it was worth it! We still need to seed it, because it is mostly weeds. It was a fun day, and we got a lot accomplished (except cleaning the house.....it is a mess.....and I am blogging to avoid cleaning!) I am so thankful for Joshua....he does so much for his family, I love him so much and am so grateful for all that he does.

Aren't they so cute. This is their second community bath. Dax just stays in it while the tub is filling up. The girls LOVE when he takes a bath with them.....they love Dax so much.

What a cutie.....this boy loves taking baths. He usually gets a sink bath, and he soaks the whole kitchen....he loves to splash.
*PICTURES  REMOVED SORRY

Sunday after church we made an Easter bunny cottage. Farrah had fun mixing the frosting, and taking the occasional lick.

Hard at work.

Both girls also had to occasionally try the candy too.

All done.

Happy St Patrick's Day!

I got the seashells out for Farrah to play with because we have been talking about the beach a lot, since Grandma and Grandpa at there right now......sigh, I am jealous! Can you see how excited she is!

Here are my plants....they grow so fast.

I made some lemon curd this week, and the girls of course love to help me in the kitchen....they are my little chefs.

So I am a coupon cutter. When I sit down to cut my coupons, I know give the girls scissors too, and I give them the scrap papers. They love it. Farrah is getting so good at cutting, she even cuts out coupons too!

Dax enjoyed a snack while we cut.

The girls hard at work. Adra works really hard at cutting, but this time she unfortunately cut her thumb! Yes, she does use safety scissors, but it is Adra.

We had a beautiful week, and got to spend a lot of time outside. I really can't wait until we have a patio, so we can play out back too.

Happy St Patrick's Day! We started off the day by eating Lucky Charms!

So handsome in green!

I made corned beef brisket, with cabbage, potatoes, and carrots. I was a little nervous about it, but it ended up being delicious. We had fun celebrating St Patrick's Day.

After dinner we headed to Ikea, by the time we got there it was 7pm, and they close at 8pm. I really wish we had some more time to shop....I mean it is Ikea....I could spend the whole day there (as long as I don't have kids with me, hehe)
Thursday my goal was to tackle the upstairs, and the laundry.....I conquered...I was exhausted.

When Joshua came home he reseeded the back lawn. We spent time outside, Adra found a mud puddle. The girls needed their second bath of the day after they were done playing.
