Christmas tree

More Craft time. The girls are really enjoying craft time (most of the time anyways). I am trying to make sure I do not interfere or correct their crafts. As you can see below Adra was very creative with her snowman, and although I wanted to put all the pieces in the right place, I resisted. She had a lot of fun.

Of course Farrah is older and her attention span is a lot longer then Adra's. She did her snowman all on her own too, and was very proud of it. I have different places in their playroom where I display their art, and they love to look at it, and you can tell that they feel proud of themselves.

Our Thankful tree is done (there was a lot more leaves on it, but before I took the picture Farrah started taking them off). We had a lot of fun thinking of different things we were thankful for. I think it was a great way for the girls to understand Thanksgiving better.

Off went the leaves and on went the ornaments. It took me a long time to cut out and paint this tree, so I wanted to keep it up as long as possible. I decided to make it an advent tree. Each day we flip an ornament over and on the back side is a scripture that relates to Christmas.

We made necklaces, and I was so proud of Adra, she did a really great job. I didn't think she would be able to string those little beads but she she did great. Farrah made a necklace, and then we just played with the beads, and sorted them by color.

This week was "C" week, and although I didn't take any pictures we did a lot of "c" related things. First I had the girls color a big letter "C" and then made it into a caterpillar. We made "C" shaped chocolate chip cookies. We ate popCorn and played with corn kernels, and using tissue paper we colored (with glue) an ear of corn. And we listened to a lot of Christmas music (which we would have done anyway)

We finally got our tree. We got a live tree this year, which I love, but I hated that we had to wait so long to get it! We went on Thursday, and we have the lights on, but we haven't decorated it yet. The girls are still not used to the time change, and pass out around 7pm, so they didn't even see the tree fully lit until the next day. Luckily for them (not for us) they wake up way before the sun comes out, so they could appreciate the full affect of the lights Friday morning. While we were putting the lights on the tree, the children were falling asleep while watching Charlie Brown Christmas (LOVE that movie!)

We had our ward Christmas party yesterday and it was so much fun. They gave everyone coins and we went to the market and got to buy little toys and lots of good period food. Then they acted out the nativity story. They did an amazing job and transformed the culteral hall at the church. We all got dressed up (sorry I never got a picture of Joshua and I), which is always fun. The girls were a little grumpy and out of it, because it was their bed time, plus everyone was dressed up, which kind of weired them out, but they had fun and loved buying things.

Funny things about the kids

Every morning when Joshua goes in the bathroom to take a shower Adra always asks, ,"Where's my daddy go" like a hundred times.

Farrah told Dax, "I love digging my nose."

When Dax is crying the girls usually go and hug him and say, "It's ok, mommy's here, mommy's got you."

To Farrah any time in the past is referred to as "yesterday", whether it happened weeks ago, or minutes. For example today she got in trouble for doing something, while we were in the car, and once we got home she gave me her upset face and said, "You were mad at me yesterday."

After daddy burped, Adra pretended to burp and then said, "excuse me"

Thanksgiving

Here are some more wedding pictures

Kirby and Adra

I love the above picture because Kirby always talks about how he is put in situations where he appears to be either Hope's or my husband.

My sweet Dax

DJ's family

My sweet girls

I love Kirby!

How beautiful! My girls could not wait to see Molly in her princess dress. They just loved it, and still talk about how Molly is a princess.

Jake and Charlie!

The Mom's (who but wore the same shirt, unknowingly!)
We went to Greenville for Thanksgiving. The boys are snoozing before our big Thanksgiving feast!

We rented a room to have our big meal.....we have outgrown Granny's house! Everyone except Molly, DJ, and Abby were there this year.

Aubrey and Dax

Look at the spread! It was amazingly delicious!

Adra taking a ride with Nona

There was a violent game on Jungle Speed....poor Andrew almost lost an eye!

The boys....they are all so handsome!

Mimi brought chapsticks for the girls, and they all looked like this most of the night. I think Adra ate all of hers!

Smiley Sammy

SANTA!!!!! Farrah was so excited and sat on his lap for a long time and told him she wants Polly Pockets!

Adra wasn't scared! I was so happy!

All the baby cousins.

Kirby

The outlaws. (They took pictures of all the "real" grandkids, but I didn't get a picture of them....honestly they are not as important as us - WE ROCK!) We missed DJ!

The Steele kids with Santa! I love Joey's face!

The other set of outlaws

Granny with her Great-grandbabies.

Ali and Dax

Here we all are!

No shave November boys!

The Winfield boys....this is Josh's great uncle, and who he was named after.

Our family.
We had such a fun day. We don't get to go down to Greenville too often, and it was just so much fun seeing everyone! We left Thursday night and headed over to Petersburg to spend the weekend with Josh's parents. We had beautiful weather on Saturday, so we went to the park and played and fed the ducks.

Those two goofballs!
The ducks were starving and were not shy at all! Adra got bit twice, and Farrah once.

Cute things the kids have said

Farrah - "I don't like bad boys, I like good boys"
Anabelle - "Do you like choo choo trains?"

Adra comes in the room and says, "Hey Mom, whats up?"

Adra has been singing, "Baby it's cold outside", it is so funny to see this little girl singing that song!

Farrah talking to Adra with they are in the bath, "We are good sisters, we listen to Mommy and clean up, and that makes her happy."

Of course that is all I can think of now, but I need to get better at remembering all the stuff they say, because they are hilarious!

Molly and DJ's wedding

This was a busy week! While I was running around packing, doing laundry, cleaning the house, the girls somehow where able to relax! They love each other so much!

I have been trying to feed Dax more, cereal I mean, and this boy loves it. I think I have only given it to him 4 or 5 times since I introduced it to him over two weeks ago....like I said before....life has been busy!

I did find time however one night to tattoo the girls.....they loved it! Both the girls scratched it off though, and then they were sad that their tattoos were gone!

As most of you know, this week was so busy because it was wedding week! Molly and DJ got married on Saturday. We left Friday afternoon to head to Kentucky. I put the girls hairs in foam curlers for the day. They loved it, and felt like princesses (that is what they kept telling me). Adra's hair is still too short for curlers however, and her hair ended up crazy....but it somehow fit her well :-)

We checked into the hotel Friday afternoon and we went to the the Louisville temple Friday night. We were so happy to all go to the temple together....which is very hard to do when you have kids (especially one who is nursing!). I want to express extra thanks to Megan, Quin (I hope I spelled your name right!), Mason, Charlie, Jake and Conrad......I think that is everyone! It was so special that the whole Childress family was able to go spend time in the temple together.....what a special experience....and it wouldn't have been possible without all those sweet people willing to watch all our kids!
We got out of the temple around 9:30pm, we went back to the hotel and myself and the other girls got ready for the bachelorette party!! WOOHOO!
Here is Molly her last night as a single lady!

Saturday morning Molly is getting ready for the big day. Here is Farrah watching Megan do Molly's makeup.

At 12:30 Molly and DJ were sealed together in the Louisville temple. Thanks again to all that helped watch our kids so that we were able to watch them be sealed. What a special day. We have gained a new family member, and could not be happier. We all love DJ so much (my girls especially!). We also got to meet and fall in love with DJ's family, they were so great and fit right in with all of us. I wish we all lived closer together!
Dax in his sweet tux! What a cute boy!

Farrah looking gorgeous at the reception hall!

The next morning.....Farrah recovering after a rough night of partying. (don't worry it is milk)

Time to leave the hotel.

We had a great weekend. What is better is that this week is Thanksgiving week, so we get to go spend more time with family, having fun and making memories.
