Last Sunday we drove down to Cave Run Lake. Every year a group of friends and family go to Cave Run to have a week of camping, boating, and having a lot of fun! We decided to go down for a couple nights with the girls. BC and Hope we able to go down to the lake too (my parents, and Josh's parents and siblings go every year too). We had so much fun. Joshua bought a new, HUGE tent a couple months ago, and it worked out great. We put Farrah on a mat on the floor, we brought the pack and play for Adra, and Josh and I had a blow up mattress. Unfortunately, Josh and I did not sleep well, but the girls did great. Both of our families were the first to get there, and we had the first night there with just us, it was fun, we set up our tents, roasted marshmallows, rode on the boat, and played games. Here are some pictures of our fun couple of days down there.
Josh and I took the girls on a relaxing boat ride. They were soon both fast asleep, so we told them to drive us (while we are still on the tube) back to the dock so we can put the girls down for their nap. That didn't go so smoothly. If any of you have been tubing, you know if there is too much weight in the front of the tube, and the tube is is not going very fast.....disaster happens! The front of the tube goes under the water dragging the rest of it under! This happened, and both Joshua and I were laying back, half asleep ourselves and then we realized what was happening. I jump up and push Farrah to the back of the tube, and while doing this I wake her up and then continue to slide off the tube into the water. So poor Farrah sees a panicked mom push her back and then fall off the tube, and the tube is still moving so I am behind the tube and she can't see me anymore! Fortunately because I slid off the tube it came back up from under the water! But poor Joshua, was holding Adra and trying to console Farrah by telling her, "Look, mommy just went swimming"....Farrah didn't' buy it! Everything worked out, but the girls never took their nap!
On Tuesday we went to the beach with all of Josh's family (too many to list!). The girls had fun playing in the water, but soon the girls were sleeping, so we came back to camp.
Here is Farrah asleep after we got home from the beach. She took a nice long nap! (We were jealous!)
The Childress brothers, awaiting their wild tube ride!
a minute later... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
The boys then started (well I think it was mostly BC) to try and push each other off the tube (as this video shows)

Next Molly, Mom and I thought we would try out the tube....and in my opinion we got an even wilder ride! Mom and I both got thrown off (at different times). And then one time the waves that Dad was making got so big that the tub went under them and we all had to jump off! We had such a fun time!
Here is a video of our fun tube ride.

Hope wanted to join in on the fun, but she is pregnant so she had to sit out the wild ride. Poor Hope.....oh wait a second she is pregnant.....I am jealous (well not really). Love you Hope!
And we are all exhausted!
We get home at 1am on Wednesday morning, so grateful to sleep in our nice comfy bed!

Things have been crazy!
So we have been so busy this summer! We are in the midst of packing for Cave Run. Every year our families and friends go on a trip to Cave Run lake, where they camp and boat for a week. Joshua and I went the second year we were married, and haven't been since. We decided to brave it this year so we are going to stay for three nights, and we are a little nervous about camping with the girls (at least I am). We do have both sets of grandparents there to help, so I am sure it will be fine.....and lots of fun!
Ok a quick recap...
After we stayed at my parents house while they were in Utah, we went and house/cat sat at the Allen's for a week and a half (that is why I have been slacking with the posts).
This past weekend was a lot of fun. Thursday was my mom's birthday and we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and of course dessert. Farrah wished Grandma a "Happy Birthday" and then told everyone it was her birthday the rest of the day....she is such a toot! And she loves birthday cake (whenever she sees any cake she always calls it "BIRTHDAY CAKE! My Birthday Cake!" )
On the 4th we went to Newport Aquarium, which was very crowded, and TONS of fun.
Farrah loved all the fish, and especially liked finding Dori and Nemo! She also loved the frogs, birds and snakes!
Adra also had a lot of fun, and kept trying to reach for all the creatures behind the glass.
The last place we visited there was the Shark petting pool, and mom and I both being very brave touched a couple of the sharks!
Here are the sharks that we touched!
We then walked through the gift shop, and I showed Farrah this Mermaid, and she was so excited and said "Merdaid!" and gave it such big hug (I had no idea she even knew that word). Grandma bought it for her and she just loves it! Below is a picture of her this morning loving up her adorable new toy.
On the way home from the Aquarium Adra decided to eat her socks.
Off to Cave Run we go. I will post when we get home....after I have recovered!
Also I forgot to add, Adra took two steps on Monday and three steps on Wednesday. She is very comfortable standing up on her own, but seems to not have a great desire to walk like Farrah did. Also whenever she does try to take a step Farrah gets so excited she runs over and hugs/tackles Adra to the ground. I will upload a video of Adra taking some baby steps soon!

Weekend
My parents went to Utah Thursday - Sunday for Maribeth's wedding, and so we got to house sit their house. We had a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of us hanging out outside on Saturday. We first decided that we were going to go to Caesars Creek, but all the parks were full with Weddings, Graduation parties, and what not, so we came back to my parents house and played outside. We grilled kabobs for dinner that were delicious. Adra has been sick lately but is starting to feel better. She is still not sleeping though, so we are going to really try to get her to sleep through the night.
Here is a pic of Farrah from this morning wearing her mommy's shoes

BUSY TIMES
So a lot has happened since my last post. Josh went to Japan for two weeks, and got home on the 14th, which was his birthday. Suzanne, Clyde, Molly and Kirby came up on the 6th and we left on the 7th to go to Louisville to attend Andrew (Josh's cousin) and Sarah's wedding reception. While driving to the church, Suzanne's van died in the parking lot. We were planning on leaving and going back to their house after the reception, but that wasn't going to happen since the car was dead. They had is towed but because it was Saturday night, the car repair shop couldn't look at the car till Monday, so Hope and BC got to house all of us for a couple of days. On Monday evening the car was fixed, so we headed to Indiana. We had a fun couple of days there, we hadn't been to their house in forever, since Hope and BC moved to Louisville they are now the meeting place (it takes us both 2 hours to get to their house). While there we made Joshua a red velvet cake for his birthday. On Friday we all crammed into the van and drove the 4.5 hours back to my house. On Saturday, we decorated the cake....Reds theme....and decorated the house, waiting for Joshua's arrival....he got home at 6pm, and we were all so excited to see him. Sunday was Father's Day and we went to church (Adra was sick that day...coughing, and sneezing, and a little fever), and then Hope and BC came over to our house, and we all went to my parents for Sunday dinner. We had a lot of fun with everyone! On Monday Joshua took the day off, and we went to The Greene, which is a pretty outside mall. We then went to my parents house and played Boccie Ball, and the Wii. Everyone went home today, so I have been working on my never ending pile of laundry and getting the house together.
Look at the way Farrah is looking at her daddy....she missed him so much!
Here is a cute video of Farrah

Baby Deer
On Sunday we got a call from the Bishop and Gayle Scott....they had a baby deer, just a week old, in their house. They found it a couple days ago, the mom was hit by a car in front of their house. They we nursing the baby deer to health until they could take it to a deer reservation. We went over their house to check out the sweet deer, Farrah loved it! Well later that night Mom got a call from them because they found that babies twin in their yard, so mom went and picked it up, since they couldn't keep two deer in their house. Mom called me the next morning and I got the girls ready and we went over to play with the baby deer. Farrah and Adra loved it. The deer just followed Farrah around and Adra followed the deer around. She or he is so little. Mom and Gayle are taking the two deer to their new home today...but we had so much fun with it yesterday!
While I was writing this blog, Adra climbed halfway up our stairs! Farrah came over and told me...."Sissy, stairs!". When Adra saw me coming to get her, she started to try and climb faster....what a little stinker!
It is 7:30pm and Adra just stood up on her own, without pulling up on anything! She can stand for a few seconds if she pulls up on something or someone, but this is the first time she stood up on her own....WOW!

Norris Lake
Friday morning we packed up the boat and headed down to Norris Lake with my parents. We arrived at our destination around 4pm, to get to the house we had to (well dad had to) maneuver the boat through many very narrow roads that had a lot of twists and turns. Once we got to the driveway of the cabin they rented they decided to drive the boat down the almost vertical driveway! Of course it didn't work our very well. A piece of the boat trailer got caught on the driveway, making lots of noise and scratches in the driveway. Josh and my dad worked for a long time and tried tons of different ways to back the boat up the impossibly steep and curvy driveway....mom and I were very nervous for them (so nervous that I didn't take any pictures of the event!) Anyways they got the boat up the drive after much effort (leaving big scratches and dents in the driveway. Dad and Josh then left to find the boat ramp (which we came to find out was nothing more then a really, really steep, narrow driveway (surprise, surprise!) Josh drove the boat to our dock (and only got lost once....the lake is big with lots of coves and is rather confusing). Once Josh got back, we packed up some stuff, got the girls ready and went for a boat ride. The guys found a cove that had a fish attractor in it (according to my dad's gps), they fished and fished, and didn't even get a bite (poor Joshua). There were a lot of bats though. We then came home got ready for bed and hit the sack (somewhere around 1am)
Adra biting moms chin...that one little tooth can HURT!
Saturday we spent the day on the boat. This lake is so beautiful, and there were hardly any other boats out. I got to drive the boat and it was a lot of fun, and not as hard as I thought it was going to be. Farrah also drove the boat (making mommy and daddy really nervous!), she liked to drive in circles....she had so much fun (I have a video of her driving below!). We went to a Marina for lunch, it was delicious and we had a beautiful view while we ate. Joshua and Dad wakeboarded, and Mom slalom skied. I didn't do anything that day because after lunch I had a horrible (I mean horrible) allergy attack, my eyes were itching like crazy and burned, and I couldn't think about getting in the water. We came back to the dock to do some more fishing. Josh caught a bluegill, but that was it. Adra did some fishing too, but didn't have any luck.

Farrah is sleepy!
Adra loves to fish with Daddy
Sunday was spent on the boat as well. We fished some more today and I caught a bluegill! When we got back to the house later in the day mom and I both felt like we were still rocking! We found two scorpions at the house too!
Grandpa wakeboarding!
Grandma skiing!
Farrah's sweet feet!
Monday we packed up and left....it was such a fun weekend.
