Work in progress

I haven't taken too many pictures, because my memory card has been full, and I haven't unpacked my camera cord (the one I use to upload pictures to our computer). I am at my parents and uploaded the pictures on their computer....so next week I will take more pictures.

Here are some pictures of us working on the house.

Josh working hard!

First night in our house, and first night in a crib
We didn't get a chance to put Adra's bed together, so they got to share a bed the first night in the house.

Dax loves to suck on his thumb and fingers. He is such a good boy.

The girls love to snuggle Dax in his bed.
GO BLUE!

Little update

We are moved into our new house. We closed at 8:30 Friday morning....after signing a bunch of papers and handing over a HUGE cashiers check, they handed us the keys, and that was it. It is still hard for us to believe that this house is OURS. We are slowly moving in. Friday Mom and I painted, painted and painted! We did so much more then I had planned....she is such a hard worker! We painted the play room and kitchen on Friday. Then we painted the living room and hallway on Saturday. My plan was to just paint the play room....so I am very excited....we just have to paint the hall bathroom and the downstairs will be complete! Joshua and my Dad went and got our living room couch and chair on Friday, and installed the water softener....which was a bigger job then we hoped. Josh's parents came over Friday night and helped us on Saturday. Saturday was the big move. With help from family and friends we moved all the big stuff and all our boxes into the house.....we appreciate all the help we got and are so grateful! Needless to say Friday and Saturday nights were not much for sleeping. Friday night we stayed at my parents because we had not moved our beds into the new house yet. We worked until about midnight that night. Saturday night was our first in the house. It was so nice to have our own room! Dax slept in his room, in a crib (that's a first for him). The girls (especially Farrah) were very sad at first to not be staying at my parent's house. They didn't sleep too well that night. Last night was a lot better, and they seem to really love their new house. On Saturday after we got everything moved in, the guys went back to installing. My dad hooked up the washer and dryer for us, then they all hooked up our microwave. Josh has been (and is currently) installing curtains and shades on the windows. There is a lot to do still, but we are taking it one day at a time. Friday we got our Internet installed, and the refriderator delivered also. We have a TV but did not sign up for cable, so we are limited to movies only....we will see how long this lasts, but we thought it would be good to go without TV for a little while. That is about it. Thanks again to everyone who helped us, by either watching our kids, moving us, or painting and installing....this transistion was made so smoothly because of your time and effort, and we are so extremely thankful!

Funny Farrah quotes:
Saturday night after the girls woke up around 4am, I was nursing Dax so Josh went and got them "juice"....but we didn't have any juice so he put a little bit of cherry 7-up mixed with lots of water in Farrah's sippy. He put them both to bed and soon after he went to bed we heard Farrah say, "Daddy this is not juice it is poison". We both just burst out laughing! What a kid.

Yesterday Farrah asked me if I liked superheros, and I said yes and then she started talking about how she doesn't like superhereos because they fight and kick people.

Today we were having lunch and we were looking outside and it was raining, Farrah told me that she didn't like the rain, so I explained to her that the rain is a blessing because it makes the trees, plants, and flowers grow, and also animals need rain so they have water to drink. Farrah then informed me, "pigs don't drink the rain, they eat pig food".

It's official....well almost

We are officially going to close on our house tomorrow. We had scheduled this weeks ago, but you never know what can happen. We went to the house last night and all the landscaping was done....but there were a few more things that had to get done in the house....so I was a little worried. Josh talked to the construction supervisor this morning, and everything is going to be done by today and we will be ready to close tomorrow morning. I am so excited about this move! We have been working on packing up a lot of our stuff this week. Last night we went to Lowes to get a few more things....such as a water softener, paint supplies, hardware for our cabinets, exterior lights, and a few other little things.....it added up as you can imagine! The plan tomorrow is that mom and I are going to paint some of the rooms, Dad and Josh will be doing the installations, such as water softener, kitchen hardware, microwave, garage door opener.....they will be very busy. Laurel has graciously offered to watch the girls for a little while tomorrow, so we can get some serious work done. Josh's parents are coming in tomorrow night to help. Also tomorrow Josh has to pick up our living room furniture, the cable guy is coming to install the internet, and we are getting our refrigerator installed.....it is going to a crazy, crazy day. Saturday we are going to have all of our stuff moved into the house. Hopefully we will be able to move a little of it Friday night, but most of it will be on Saturday. It is going to be an exhausting and exciting weekend. We feel so blessed to have this house, and we can't wait to make tons of amazing memories there.
Here are some pictures of my beautiful, amazing, sweet, loving, adorable children.
Seriously....he is incredible! I mean look at that face....looking at him is like looking at Heaven!

I just can't get enough of him!

What an angel....Farrah has such a sweet, motherly spirit. She loves to help out and loves to show off her amazing dimples. She is such a happy, easy going girl. I just love her so much!
This picture just describes Adra completely! She is a wild child, a risk taker, and a little spacey! She is also very sweet, soft, and gentle. She just amazes me everyday. Whenever I look at her my heart just aches!
My perfect little girls
Last week we went to the beach at Ceasar's creek with the Allen's. Farrah had so much fun in the lake. She just jumped and splashed all over the place.
Dax chilled in the shade, and was such a good boy....as he always is.
Adra was not a fan of the water at all. It took her a long time to just get used to the sand. She is so funny!
I love this picture of Dax! He looks like a little old man.

I will post pictures of the new house as soon as we get moved in and settled. Wish us luck that everything goes smoothly!

Life is a little crazy

Things are pretty busy here, since we will (hopefully) be moving into our house this Friday. I probably won't have time to do a long post anytime this week.... but here is a cute video I took without Adra knowing in the car yesterday....she is a special little girl.

Thomas

Last week we went in search of bugs, and this was the first bug Farrah found....a HUGE praying mantis. The girls were so excited.

Then we had a picnic in the play house. The weather has been so beautiful lately, we have spent a ton of time outside playing.

Adra decided we should make a cake, and she communicated this to me by opening a box of cake mix and biting open the bag and sprinkling some of the mix on the floor.

Here is our carpet! We bought a refridgerator and living room furniture this week. Just 10 more days till closing!

They look so much alike! Farrah's cute quote of the week - "Mommy, Dax is close to my heart."

Adra's quote of the week, "Mommy, Farrah is old, Farrah is very old"
On Saturday we went and saw Thomas the Train
Adra and Dax both passed out in the car, but don't worry, Adra woke up pretty soon after we got there.

Playing with the trains
There's Thomas!

Farrah sitting in a Fire truck
Papi and Farrah
Adra wouldnt' go in the truck, but we got her to stand in front of it (Anabelle and Farrah refused)
Dax and Sam talking a snooze together
The Childress grandkids
Dax and Sam....chilling out, watching a game.
He is so sweet!
On Sunday they started draining the pond. They are going to finish draining it today....it is a strange sight.

A little video of Dax man.

We're going on a nature hunt

Here is a little video of Dax. I need to get a better one, by the time I got the camera he was too tired to do his big smiles.

It is so relaxing being outside

Farrah going on a ride with Daddy

What a stinker!

Daddy taking Farrah for a ride....she loves it. Adra was curious, but too scared to get anywhere near the quad.

"I wanna swing mommy, I wanna swing"-----we hear this non stop when we are outside!

My beautiful girls munching on celery

Dax's first ride on the quad

The girls, Dax, and I went on a "nature hunt" yesterday. We walked around my parent's property and picked up neat things that we found on the ground. Afterwards we came inside and made a collage of everything we found. This was my first time letting Adra play with glue....and she of course made a mess of it. Farrah made a beautiful picture all by herself, and was very proud of it!

House update:
Yesterday we got carpet! I haven't been over to see it yet though. They are finishing the inside of the house this week, and are having it cleaned next week. All that will be left is the landscaping, lawn, diveway, and porches. We will be moved in before you know it, and honestly I am a little stressed....but mostly excited.
